Members of Scottdale Mennonite Church celebrated Earth Day on April 19 with a roadside trash clean up on sections of 819 from Sheetz to West Overton to the Scottdale borough building. The group gathered nearly 30 bags of trash, and separated the recyclables, which filled 13 bags. One member found $20 and will use it to buy sturdy trash bags for the group’s next “trash ninja” event. West Overton and Jacobs Creek Watershed Association supported the event with supplies.
